DAVID S. FEATHER

David graduated from SUNY Binghamton in 1990 and Hofstra Law School in 1993. His goal is to encourage business clients to undertake a course of preventative planning to minimize exposure to future litigation. David is a member of the Legal Advisory Committee for the Association of the American University Women (AAUW), a national organization dedicated to the advancement of women employed in higher education. He was co-editor of Employment Discrimination Law, Third Edition, and has lectured before various legal organizations and the general public regarding discrimination in the workplace, sexual harassment and age discrimination.

David concentrates the majority of his practice in the area of employment law, with emphasis on workplace discrimination. He is experienced in all phases of drafting and negotiating employment contracts, severance agreements and non-compete agreements. He has appeared before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the New York State Division of Human Rights and the Nassau County Commission on Human Rights. He has resolved employment disputes through court-annexed mediation programs and private mediation services. He has litigated matters and advised clients under such statutes as Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family Medical Leave Act, ERISA, Fair Labor Standards Act and various "whistle-blower" laws.
