MICHAEL FLYNN

Michael graduated from Brooklyn College Cum Laude with Honors in Sociology in 1974. He was awarded a Goodrich Scholarship at Western New England School of Law and finished in the top 12 of his class at New York Law School, receiving a Juris Doctor Degree with Honors in 1978.

Michael is an author and frequent lecturer on railroad law. He has been a FELA attorney for 23 years and has successfully handled over 1,000 cases against rail carriers like LIRR, Metro-North, Amtrak, PATH, NJ Transit, Delaware & Hudson Railroad, Baltimore & Ohio Railroad, Providence & Worcester Railroad, Conrail, Norfolk & Southern Railroad, Boston & Maine Railroad, CSX Railroad. He is admitted to practice in New York and various Courts throughout the northeast, handling cases in Bangor, Maine; Boston and Springfield, Massachusetts; Providence, Rhode Island; Washington DC; Baltimore, Maryland; Newark and Trenton, New Jersey; Hartford and New Haven, Connecticut, Buffalo, Binghamton, Syracuse, Utica, Albany, Kingston and the New York Metropolitan area. He is a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association; New York Trial Lawyers Association; Nassau County Bar Association and a charter member of the Academy of Rail Labor Attorneys.

Michael has established law in 12 reported cases, including his most recent case against the MTA on behalf of MTA Police. He is designated legal counsel to the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen nationwide; Transport Workers' Union on Amtrak; Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and Sheet Metal Workers on the Long Island Railroad.

Areas of concentration are Federal Employers' Liability Act (FELA) Railway Labor Act; railroad accidents; Safety Appliance Act; Boiler Inspection Act; and Code of Federal Regulations related to railroad safety.
